Wirksworth is a fascinating Derbyshire market town. Whether here for the day or perhaps staying a little longer, make sure to spend some time  at the new Wirksworth Heritage Centre to find out about the history of the town and its people. Relax in thenew café, pick up a souvenir and take a tour around the brand new museum.

As well as our family friendly museum, Wirksworth Heritage Centre hosts a range of events for families and children in a purpose-built Studio room. From Stay and Play to themed arts & craft workshops and storytelling sessions – including many at the weekend – there’s lots to choose from.

They also run after-school activities and holiday events. Many are ‘drop-in’ but for some you may need to book as spaces are limited.

Also events are not just for the little ones!  They have a growing range of activities for young people, including after-school clubs and social events in our Wi-Fi equipped café.
