Review: Denby Pottery Village

Updated: Mar 7

The Boom Kids (and their mums) spent a lovely afternoon at Denby Pottery Village on the weekend. We arrived around lunch time and easily found parking. First, we enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, loaded with scrumptious treats. There were both adult and child-friendly three-tiered plates, and even dairy-free options.

After we'd stuffed ourselves, we walked over to the Denby Museum and we learned all about the history of Denby in an educational guided tour. This was fascinating and great for adults and older kids alike!

Next, we did the Denby Discovery Experience. We learnt the whole process of how their beautiful pottery is produced with a hands-on, child-friendly, interactive guided display.

Finally, the children let their artistic abilities flow as they painted their own paint-a-pot creation in the spacious Craft Studio. There was even a special gift for us mums too!

The Denby Village is well-developed, with plenty of parking and it’s easy to spend a few hours here with the family. There is a playpark, nappy change facility, spacious areas to enjoy a meal inside and outside. There are kitchen and gift shops, and a garden centre where the children can feed the fish in their koi pond! We had an amazing family day out!

So how much does it cost? The Village is free to visit with loads of shops and eateries perfect for browsing. The Full Denby Experience costs just £22 per adult and £20 per child but if you don't think the whole experience is the right fit for your family there are other options:

Family Experiences The Denby Discovery and Denby Museum Experience from £15 per ticket

The Denby Discovery Experience from £10 per ticket

Denby Museum Experience from £10 per ticket

Craft Studio Activity Paint a Pot Experience from £9 Paint a Fun Pottery Shape from £8

Play with Clay from £5

They also host children's parties at £12 per child which includes 2 craft studio activities and a tea party. They are available to book at weekends at 11am-1pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm.
