The Boom Magazine Ltd business is up for sale

After very careful consideration, we have decided to put the Boom Magazine Ltd business up for sale. Both of us have increasing responsibilities in our other roles (Strategic Marketing and Assistant Head/SENCO) which we did not have upon purchasing Boom Magazine. These have resulted in increased time and energy commitments which are, regretfully, incompatible with running Boom simultaneously. 

We purchased the magazine in September 2023 and set it up as a limited company. From day one, we were passionate about Boom Magazine and supporting its community of families and local businesses. 

Our focus has been on:

• Producing a high-quality magazine

• Building and maintaining relationships with advertisers, class listers, distributors and writers

• Embedding the increased 0-11s age-range

• Increasing social media followers and email subscribers

• Consolidating company branding

• Increasing distribution areas

• Devising creative ways to reach, serve and support the families in this part of Derbyshire. 

We currently work on Boom Magazine flexibly, around our young families and other jobs (which can often mean emails at gone 11pm!).

Our vision when we purchased Boom from previous owner Jo was to continue to nurture a connected community of Derbyshire families and to celebrate Derbyshire’s brilliant businesses...

...and we think we've done a pretty good job!

Our ethos has always been:

• To be inclusive and embrace diversity: represent a full range of people and families

• To build community and promote connection: build the Boom community both in real life and online, and champion businesses

• To encourage creativity and bring joy: bring pleasure to our readers and followers

• To be relevant and essential: make readers and followers feel like Boom is a crucial part of their lives and a trusted resource

Nothing will happen overnight, and we foresee the sale of the business taking around three months in order to ensure a smooth transition to a new owner. In this time, we will continue to operate as normal. All Boom Buddies, advertisers, partners and internal stakeholders have been informed prior to the public announcement.
